Commitment to safety begins with the NetJets ATP licensed pilots (the highest level of pilot license available). Many other business jet operators don't employ their pilots, but NetJets hires their pilots as "full-time vested members" of their company.

The NetJets pilots have an average of over 7,000 hours of flight experience and train an average of 23 days every year - typically twice that of most commercial and private aviation pilots.

NetJets maintains the strictest standards in hiring and training their pilots. Each pilot follows the same stringent requirements that include:

  		•  Training and flight time in only ONE type of aircraft (safety is further enhanced when a pilot concentrates on only one set of aircraft procedures and equipment)
  		• FAA first-class medical certificate issued every six months
  		• Full-motion flight simulator training twice a year (simulator training is crucial because it allows crews to practice managing multiple-event emergencies that would be impossible to safely create in a real aircraft)
  		• FAA check ride "type rating" (aeronautical experience, knowledge and skills required to fly a particular type of aircraft)
  		• Continuous in-house training including:
  		•  Domestic and international security and procedures
  		• Medical emergency procedures
  		• Hypoxia and high-altitude physiology
  		• Advanced de-icing procedures
